North Bengal, 2017

Brothers who coexisted hitherto

Brothers who shared the same bowl

Brothers who were united by humanity

Are now not humans anymore.

Humanity effaced from their blood system,

And left them to be mere Bengalis and Nepalis.

Swords pointed to the hearts,

Twisted tracks laid for the other.

Differences will always arise,

Revolution will explode,

But will that mean Lives will be lost?

A brother?

A father?

A mother?

A human?

Will torture screams

And sharpened metals always be the weapon of choice?

Brothers who coexisted hitherto

Are now slaughtering each other.

Shame on who we have become,

Shame on us.
