The Distant Otherwise

​If only animals could speak… 

No butcher could  upheave the cold knife against them. 

If only women could freely laugh, 

Would take place no acts of shame. 

If only people could hug with no grudges within, 

Bullets would yield flowers, every war base green.

If only people could appreciate the raw beauty of a soul, 

The word ‘Ugly’ wouldn’t exist, no tears could roll. 

If only politics was free from the parasites of greed, 

Every eagle would soar high,  happiness would bleed. 

If only people could laugh and frown very less, 

This world would have been a better place to dwell.
