Holi

I shall wear white again,
But this time the cause shall not be pain.
I shall run today but not from fears,
To save myself from the extreme holi gears.

Five years of my life has been deprived of colours,
Without the red sindoor… the chura or flowers.
Tears and sadness: a duty to behold,
To be called a ‘Widow’ for life, every sparkles were sold.

Hidden desires, wants and needs,
I was to live without love, lust and greed.
But I shall not have a sad ending to my life,
I shall die in red, leave this earthly world as his wife.

A new hand to hold, a start afresh,
Newly wed, with colours I am blessed.
And today we shall dance, drink and relish,
Colours splashing our lives, red yellow and green.
